Leadville, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of central and southern Colorado, with snow and strong winds expected through 5 p.m. MST Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, affected areas include Leadville, Saguache County west of the Continental Divide, the Western Mosquito Range, and the Northern and Southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches are forecast, with wind gusts reaching up to 45 mph.

Officials warn that road conditions may become hazardous, especially during the Friday evening commute. Strong winds could also bring down tree branches, further increasing risks for travelers.

Residents and travelers are advised to slow down, use caution, and check updated road conditions by dialing 511. The National Weather Service urges preparedness for winter driving and possible delays due to accumulating snow and reduced visibility.
