Chicago, IL – Chicago will see another stretch of warm, dry conditions this week, with highs nearing 90°F and low humidity levels. These summer-like temperatures are expected to persist through Friday, marking a continued drought of rainfall in the region.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will peak Tuesday at 86-89°F. Coinciding with the heat, a spectacular astronomical event will unfold that evening. The Supermoon lunar eclipse, known as the Harvest Moon, will begin at 8:41 p.m. EDT, peaking at 10:44 p.m. when 8% of the moon will be covered by Earth’s shadow.

Chicagoans are encouraged to find a clear, dark spot for optimal viewing, away from city lights. While the weather remains calm, authorities recommend staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak afternoon heat.

Cooler weather could arrive by the end of September, but rain relief is still weeks away. Check the forecast for updates as conditions develop.
