Waldorf, MD – A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged as an adult in connection with an armed robbery in Waldorf that investigators say involved the theft of a victim’s shoes, backpack, and jewelry at gunpoint.
According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery occurred on July 13 in the area of Post Office Road and Gallery Place in Waldorf. The victim told deputies he was walking along a path when he was approached by multiple suspects.
Investigators said one of the suspects allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s shoes, backpack, and jewelry. The victim complied, and the suspects fled the area.
During the investigation, detectives identified one of the alleged suspects. On July 16, authorities executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, where they recovered a loaded firearm from a bedroom, according to the sheriff’s office.
The 16-year-old was arrested and charged as an adult with robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and other related offenses. The charges are allegations, and the juvenile is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue working to identify any additional individuals who may have been involved.
