Greenville, NY – New York State Police are intensifying a multi-agency search for a man wanted in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation, warning the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
According to New York State Police Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation, authorities are pursuing available leads in an effort to locate Thomas Ryan and are asking residents to remain vigilant.
Police are also searching for the victim’s gray 2016 Toyota Prius with New York registration HNH7671. Anyone who sees Ryan or the vehicle is asked to immediately notify authorities.
Investigators said the search involves local, county and federal law enforcement agencies. The effort includes neighboring police departments, crime analysis centers, transportation partners and aviation resources.
State Police are specifically asking residents in the Greenville community to review home surveillance footage recorded from approximately 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, through the overnight hours.
Authorities said residents should report suspicious activity captured during that period, emphasizing that information that initially appears insignificant could ultimately assist investigators.
Police have not disclosed additional details in the latest statement about the circumstances of the homicide or Ryan’s alleged involvement.
Authorities cautioned anyone who encounters Ryan not to approach him. Those who see him should call 911 immediately.
