Champaign, IL – The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District is hosting a car seat donation drive to help low-income families in the area. This initiative provides new car seats and hands-on education about proper installation, aiming to keep children safe on the road.
The drive coincides with Child Passenger Safety Week, which runs from Sept. 15-21. Donations will directly benefit families needing assistance obtaining car seats. Community members can contribute by purchasing from the district’s Amazon wish list or by dropping off donations at the WIC window in the health district’s main office.
According to the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, the goal is to ensure every child is protected while traveling. Educational support on proper car seat installation will also be provided. This effort underscores the importance of child safety, encouraging the community to work together to protect its youngest members.
