Fishers, IN – A semi-truck transporting vehicles erupted in flames Thursday afternoon on southbound I-69 near Exit 210, prompting traffic to be rerouted in both directions and causing major delays throughout the area.
According to the Fishers Police Department, the fire occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-69. Emergency responders closed off multiple lanes to manage the fire, which generated thick black smoke visible for miles and flames that engulfed the car hauler’s trailer section.
Both southbound and northbound traffic is currently being diverted away from the impacted area as crews work to extinguish the blaze and clear debris. Officials said the incident is expected to cause delays for several hours and urged drivers to seek alternate routes or delay travel if possible.
