A driver was killed late Friday in a single-vehicle crash on Teasdale Lake Street, just west of Robbins Lake Road in Porter Township. The car reportedly lost control, flipped, and slid about 50 yards down an embankment before striking a tree.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital. Authorities suspect alcohol and drugs contributed to the crash.
