California’s capital starts the morning wrapped in light mist, with 46 degrees at Sacramento Executive Airport and visibility reduced to under two miles after 9 a.m. Streetlights glow faintly through the haze, but brighter skies are already building to the west.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, sunshine takes over late this morning with highs climbing to near 69 degrees. Winds remain light and variable, making for a calm and comfortable afternoon across downtown, Elk Grove and along I-5.

Clouds increase slightly tonight, but no rain is expected. Wednesday turns mostly cloudy early, then gradually sunny with a high near 66. By Thursday, full sunshine returns with highs near 64, followed by upper 60s Friday.

The bigger story is the warming trend. Highs reach 74 Saturday and 75 Sunday as early March delivers classic spring warmth to the Central Valley. That’s several degrees above average and a clear signal that the season is shifting.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. Longer daylight pairs perfectly with the warmer stretch ahead. Keep in mind, cool mornings in the 40s can still create brief slick spots on bridges if moisture lingers, though widespread issues are not expected.

Looking into the 6–10 day outlook, temperatures remain above normal into early next week, with highs pushing the mid-70s by Monday.

Five Day Outlook for Sacramento, California:
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy then sunny, high 66.
Thursday: Sunny, high 64.
Friday: Sunny, high 68.
Saturday: Sunny, high 74.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, high 75.
