San Diego, California – Drivers and beachgoers in San Diego should prepare for a prolonged stretch of morning fog and cloudy skies through midweek, with visibility expected to drop along major routes like I-5 and I-8, especially late at night into the early hours.

According to the National Weather Service, a marine layer will persist through Wednesday, June 12, bringing patchy fog each night and morning, especially before 11 a.m. Sunday’s high will hover near 73°F with mostly sunny skies after the fog lifts. Coastal areas may stay gray longer than inland neighborhoods.

Winds will remain light—5 to 10 mph—primarily from the northwest. Although no major advisories are in place, those commuting early or heading to the coast should allow extra travel time and use headlights in low-visibility areas. Patchy fog is expected again Monday night and Tuesday night, clearing by mid-morning each day.

Cloud cover and fog will continue Tuesday through Wednesday with slight warming, peaking near 73°F Tuesday afternoon. Inland areas could see more sun, but morning fog will remain a coastal risk through Thursday.
