Kankakee County’s largest senior-focused event returns this week as the 6th Annual Senior Safety Fair takes place Thursday at the Quality Inn & Suites in Bradley.

According to organizers, the free event—hosted by Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe—runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is open to seniors and caregivers. More than 70 vendors will be on hand with resources covering topics from healthcare and estate planning to recreation and wellness. Expert speakers will address issues such as fraud prevention, Medicaid updates, wills and trusts.

Highlights include a live police K9 demonstration, senior self-defense tips, a “Hidden in Plain Sight” trailer exhibit, and wellness services like free blood pressure checks, vision screenings, and even complimentary massages provided by the Institute of Natural Health & Education.

According to the event flyer, raffle prizes, door prizes, and interactive vendor tables will be available throughout the day. Lunch and refreshments are also included at no cost. While no general registration is required to attend, guests must register on-site to be eligible for door prizes. Attendees can also pre-register through the State’s Attorney’s Office at (815) 936-5829, via email at CStewart@K3County.net, or online at www.k3sao.com/seniors.

Organizers emphasize that the fair is designed to empower seniors and their caretakers with information and tools to stay safe, healthy, and connected in the community.
