Mokena, IL – Mokena police officers arrested a man wanted in connection to an alleged armed robbery on Everett Lane. The robbery occurred on July 22 when the suspect allegedly responded to a Facebook Marketplace ad, robbed the victim, and fled the scene in a reportedly stolen vehicle.
According to the Mokena Police Department, the suspect was identified as Juan A. Serrano III, born in 2005. Mokena detectives collaborated with Palos Hills officers and executed a search warrant on Serrano’s residence in Palos Hills on August 23. Officers reportedly seized a Jeep Compass and $124 during the arrest.
Authorities charged Serrano with armed robbery with a firearm, a Class X felony, and aggravated robbery, a Class 1 felony. Serrano is also linked to additional armed robberies in other jurisdictions. He remains in custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility awaiting his pretrial hearing.
Mokena officers received commendations for their role in the arrest, highlighting the successful partnership between departments. The investigation remains ongoing, with potential charges for Serrano’s other alleged offenses.
