Little Rock, Arkansas – Thunderstorms could roll into Central Arkansas by 1 p.m. Sunday, disrupting outdoor plans and creating slick conditions along I-30 and I-40. While the storms aren’t expected to be severe, the timing could affect afternoon events and road travel across Pulaski County.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, there’s a 40% chance of thunderstorms beginning Sunday afternoon, with the strongest potential near Little Rock and northward. Temperatures will reach the low 70s, and gusty winds may follow storm cells, especially through Sunday evening. Rain chances continue into Monday, with another 50% likelihood of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m.

Drivers should prepare for wet pavement and reduced visibility. Northbound travelers along I-30 and I-40 should plan alternate routes or delay travel during peak storm hours. While no flood warnings are currently in effect, isolated downpours may cause minor pooling on roadways.

The start of the workweek will bring lingering clouds and continued rain into Monday night, followed by a dry pattern. By Tuesday, sunny skies return with highs near 85°F. Wednesday and Thursday will continue the summerlike feel, peaking around 91°F with moderate winds from the south.

Residents should charge devices and monitor for updated advisories. Rain chances return Thursday night into Friday, though the week overall trends drier and warmer.

Weather alerts remain possible through Monday evening. Updates will be issued if confidence in storm timing or severity increases.
