24 Arrested in Multi-Agency Drug and Weapons Investigation in Illinois

Lincoln, IL – A multi-agency task force arrested 24 individuals during a narcotics and weapons investigation in Logan County. The operation led to 61 criminal charges.

According to the Lincoln Police Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests followed warrants targeting narcotics trafficking and weapons offenses. The task force seized 2,702 grams of illegal drugs valued at $156,672.

Authorities reported confiscating 1,892 grams of methamphetamine, 773 grams of cocaine, and 36 grams of heroin and fentanyl. The operation also uncovered 42 firearms and five vehicles.

Charges ranged from federal offenses, including methamphetamine trafficking, to state charges for cocaine and heroin distribution. Twelve individuals faced charges for cocaine delivery, while three faced fentanyl-related counts.

Officials emphasized the collaborative effort, involving local police departments, Illinois State Police, and federal agents. The seized items and related cases will be prosecuted in federal and state courts.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office noted this investigation as a major step in combating local narcotics and weapons trafficking.
