Danville, IL – A 17-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in Danville on Tuesday night. Police responded to reports of gunfire near the 1000 block of Franklin St. around 9 p.m. while patrolling the area.
According to Danville Police, officers arrived at the scene and discovered that shots had been fired between two addresses. Both homes and vehicles were damaged by bullets. A juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle. Later, he was moved to another hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit is assisting with the investigation. Authorities have not released further information as of this writing. Witnesses are cooperating, and anyone with additional details is encouraged to contact the Danville Police Department or Vermilion County Crimestoppers.
