Rochester, NY – A woman and her two children who were reportedly abducted Saturday afternoon in Monroe County have been found safe following a large, multi-agency law enforcement response.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 3:19 p.m. Saturday, May 9, to a home in Perinton for reports that the victims had been abducted. Investigators initially determined the incident was allegedly carried out by another family member who intended to leave the area.

Authorities quickly began gathering surveillance footage from nearby homes, identifying vehicles and individuals believed to be involved. As concerns grew that the victims may be in danger, additional resources were deployed and multiple agencies were notified, including state and federal partners, as well as border authorities.

Officials said the response included the New York State Police, FBI, Rochester Police Department, and Canada Border Services Agency, among others. An AMBER Alert was issued, along with a county-wide “Be On the Lookout” alert.

Law enforcement ultimately tracked the individuals to a residence in the city of Rochester, where the woman and both children were located unharmed.

Three suspects—Gamil S. Ahmed, 31, Omar Saleh, 30, both of Rochester, and Dajour L. Paul, 26, of Brooklyn—were taken into custody. According to authorities, they were each charged with three counts of second-degree kidnapping, a Class B felony.

Officials say the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue working to locate another individual believed to be connected to the case.

All three suspects are awaiting arraignment in Monroe County court.
