Life-Threatening Injuries Reported in Major I-57 Collision Involving Semis Near Paxton, Illinois

Paxton, IL – An early Friday morning collision on I-57 involving two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle resulted in serious injuries and significant traffic disruption. 

According to Illinois State Police, the crash occurred south of Paxton, with one individual rushed to the hospital facing life-threatening injuries. The investigation revealed that the passenger vehicle collided with the rear of a stalled semi in the right-hand lane, subsequently being struck by another semi. 

This multi-vehicle accident caused both semis and the car to end up in the southbound lanes, leading to the closure of northbound sections of I-57. The situation remains under active investigation.
