Wheaton, IL – A Cook County man accused of causing a deadly DUI crash in DuPage County will remain in custody following a judge’s decision to grant a motion for pretrial detention.

According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, 50-year-old Adolfo Carrillo of Cicero was ordered held after appearing in First Appearance Court on charges including aggravated DUI causing death, along with multiple misdemeanor traffic offenses.

Authorities say the crash occurred on May 1, 2026, at حوالي 5:58 p.m. near northbound I-355 and Army Trail Road in Addison. Illinois State Police responded to find two heavily damaged vehicles, including a Ford F-150 allegedly driven by Carrillo and a Lexus SUV occupied by 65-year-old Rebeca Hidalgo and her two adult children.

Prosecutors allege Carrillo was driving at a high rate of speed when he entered the merge lane and struck the passenger side of the Lexus. Hidalgo was transported to a hospital, where she later died from severe internal injuries. Her children sustained minor injuries.

Investigators further allege Carrillo showed signs of impairment at the scene, and testing indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.098.

Carrillo is scheduled to appear in court again on June 1, 2026. Authorities emphasize that the charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
