First Presbyterian Church Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Stained Glass Window
Kankakee, IL – Mayor Wells-Armstrong joined First Presbyterian Church of Kankakee who invited the community to attend their ribbon cutting ceremony for their newly restored stain glass window, DaVinci’s “The Last Supper.”
Computer skills Fall 2019 at KCC
In “Intermediate Excel,” participants will learn to manipulate large worksheets: use multiple worksheets and workbooks: customize Excel; apply advanced formatting; use Excel as a list manager; perform advanced charting options; use auditing and comments features; and create and manage templates. Microsoft Office Specialist examination objectives will be covered. Instructor is Kris Condon. Class meets Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in KCC Room D122. Cost is $125. Prerequisite is Introduction to Microsoft Excel or equivalent experience.
Manhattan celebrates Wine Fest this Friday
Wine Fest kicks off Friday, September 20th from 6 pm-10 pm. In addition to special souvenir wine glasses for guests, 8 varieties of wine will be offered for tasting until 8:30 pm. The evening will feature live entertainment from Johnny Russler & The Beach Bum Band and also a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
IDOT announces nightly I-57 closures, Sept 16th to 20th
IDOT announced earlier today portions of I-57 will be closed with detours starting Sept 16th to Sept 20th while new I-Beams are set overhead for the bridge at St. George Road. According to the schedule, if weather plays along:

On Thursday, Oct. 3, Kankakee Community College will host its Annual Fall Job Fair from 9 a.m. - noon in the KCC College Center.
Kankakee’s Fire Department to Host 3rd Annual Community Safety Day
Kankakee, IL – Kankakee’s Fire Department will host their Community Safety Day this weekend. The program is called Passport to Safety. Although the event is geared toward children, all are encouraged to attend.
