“The City of Kankakee is committed to a thorough census count to ensure that we have access to the maximum state and federal funding resources available. Additionally, there are implications tied to population thresholds and a municipality’s ability to maintain local control in terms of governance. We want to make sure that we count every resident so that we can meet the needs of our evolving community,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.
