Salvation Army Thrift Store in Bradley has let its workforce know it will be closing its doors for the final time on May 1st. They will continue to accept donations at the location until March 14th.
Locally, the Manteno St. Baldrick’s event has raised over $630,000 and shaved over 850 heads in its 8 years, all in the name of curing pediatric cancer. The local school provides all of the equipment and brings their community outreach team of students to help the event run smoothly.

The Manteno Chamber of Commerce takes pride in awarding two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors, one male and one female. These scholarships are awarded to any high school senior that resides in Manteno. The scholarship criteria are based on the applicant's scholastic achievement, interest in continuing education and career goals, participation and leadership in school and community activities, and reputation for good citizenship and moral character.
