Little Rock, AR – Residents across Arkansas can expect relief today as a cold snap that kept Harrison below freezing for 96 hours ends. Sunshine and rising temperatures will provide a reprieve as the week progresses.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Harrison, located in Boone County, fell below freezing last Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Temperatures are expected to climb above 32°F this afternoon, with highs reaching the mid-40s by Thursday. Little Rock will see a high of 41°F today with a low of 15°F tonight, but warming trends will follow.

The next few days will remain clear, making it safer for travel along key roadways like I-40 and I-30. Drivers should still exercise caution on rural routes where icy patches could persist. Thursday and Friday will be sunny, with highs between 42°F and 45°F across central Arkansas, and calm winds.

Rain chances will reemerge on Saturday night, with a 20% chance of showers increasing to 40% by Sunday. Those planning outdoor activities should prepare for changing conditions this weekend.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain above freezing through Monday, giving the region a well-deserved break from the icy weather. Stay updated by following the NWS for alerts and forecasts.
