Raleigh, NC – Residents across central and eastern North Carolina are facing slick and hazardous roadways as winter weather conditions persist. With a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 7 a.m. Thursday, officials are urging caution during the morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, light snow fell Tuesday night, leading to icy bridges and overpasses. A low of 19 degrees is forecast overnight, with wind chills as low as zero, prompting a Cold Weather Advisory through 10 a.m. Wednesday. Frostbite is a risk for those outdoors without proper protection.

Roads, including portions of I-40 and US-70, are expected to remain icy through Wednesday morning. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, allow extra travel time, and monitor conditions.
