Austin, TX – A cold front will grip Central Texas this weekend, starting with freezing temperatures early Saturday and breezy winds across Austin. Drivers and residents should prepare for wind chills in the 20s before the area gradually warms into the 50s by Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday morning will begin with lows near 27°F, with brisk winds from the north making it feel even colder. Gusts of up to 30 mph are expected in parts of the city, including along I-35. By the afternoon, sunny skies will help temperatures climb to a high of 56°F. The warming trend continues Sunday, with highs reaching 59°F under clear skies.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday are forecast to stay sunny and mild, with daytime highs in the mid-50s and overnight lows in the mid-30s. While breezy conditions will subside after Saturday, calm winds will make for pleasant outdoor conditions early next week.

Residents should take precautions tonight, as Friday evening temperatures drop to 27°F. Protect outdoor plants, and ensure pets and vulnerable individuals are shielded from the cold. If traveling Saturday morning, allow extra time to warm vehicles and check for icy patches on rural roads.

With sunny skies dominating the extended forecast, this weekend is shaping up to be ideal for outdoor plans once the morning chill fades. Stay tuned to local updates for any changes in conditions.
