Illinois Investigators Work to Solve Mystery of Human Remains Found in Kewanee

Kewanee, IL – Authorities in Henry County are seeking the public’s help to identify human remains found near Kewanee in March.

The remains, located on March 10, were analyzed at the Illinois State Museum’s Human Osteology Laboratory. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the remains belong to a Caucasian male between 30 and 53 years old, standing approximately 5’6” to 5’9”. The individual appeared in good health at the time, with no visible head trauma. A cause of death remains undetermined.

A forensic sketch artist created a likeness of the man based on his skull. The sheriff’s office released the image alongside information about the case, noting that local missing persons have been ruled out through dental records.
