Cleveland, Ohio – Multiple rounds of thunderstorms could disrupt travel and power across northern Ohio starting as early as 10 a.m. Tuesday, with another stronger wave arriving overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, storms will develop in two main windows: late morning through mid-afternoon, then again between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. A Level 2 slight risk covers much of northern Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, Toledo, and Youngstown, with the primary threat focused on damaging wind gusts.

Wind speeds could exceed 60 mph in stronger storms, with secondary risks including large hail and a few isolated tornadoes. Drivers along I-90, I-71, and I-77 should prepare for sudden heavy rain, reduced visibility, and debris on roadways during peak travel periods.

Power outages are possible if winds down trees and power lines. Residents are urged to charge devices, secure loose outdoor items, and enable emergency alerts before storms develop.

Another round of storms is expected Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., extending the threat window and increasing the chance for additional warnings across the region.
