Florida – A thick layer of fog is limiting visibility across Jacksonville early today, creating hazardous driving conditions before sunshine quickly takes over and temperatures climb into the mid-80s.
According to the National Weather Service, areas of dense fog will persist through about 10 a.m., reducing visibility on major routes like I-95, I-295, and I-10. Conditions improve late morning as skies turn sunny, pushing highs near 84°F with light winds.
The bigger pattern now taking shape is a stretch of warm, stable weather with repeated foggy starts. Patchy fog redevelops early each morning through Thursday, especially in low-lying areas and near waterways. Drivers should expect sudden drops in visibility around sunrise, particularly near bridges and coastal routes.
Temperatures steadily rise through the week. Highs reach around 85°F Wednesday, then climb to 87°F Thursday before peaking near 91°F Friday and Saturday. Pavement and parked cars will heat quickly under direct sun, especially during the afternoon.
While rain stays out of the picture, the combination of humidity and calm winds will support more fog formation during early hours. Plan commutes carefully and allow extra time when visibility drops.
Looking ahead, warm and mostly sunny conditions continue into the weekend, with only minor cloud cover and light winds expected.
