Graceville, FL – A routine traffic stop in Jackson County on Monday led to the arrest of a passenger on alleged drug-related charges after deputies reported finding suspected narcotics inside a vehicle.

According to the Jackson County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the stop happened Monday at the intersection of Peanut Road and Smokey Road in Graceville after a deputy allegedly observed a traffic violation involving an improper U-turn. Authorities said the vehicle came to rest partially in the roadway, prompting the stop.

Deputies made contact with the driver and passenger, and a K-9 unit was deployed during the investigation. The sheriffโ€™s office said the K-9 allegedly alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, leading deputies to conduct a search.

During that search, officials reported locating a backpack at the front passengerโ€™s feet that allegedly contained multiple baggies of a crystalline substance along with drug paraphernalia. The substance later allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 0.88 grams, according to authorities.

Investigators said the backpack was allegedly determined to belong to the passenger, identified as Robbie Lebron Howard. Howard was taken into custody and transported to the Jackson County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

Howard is charged with alleged possession of methamphetamine and alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities emphasized that all charges are allegations at this stage.

The driver was issued a written warning related to the traffic violation and was not charged in connection with the alleged narcotics.

Officials also noted that outreach coordinators are available for individuals seeking assistance with substance-related issues in the community.
