Adams County, WA – A 22-year-old Othello man was hospitalized with head injuries after a single-vehicle rollover crash Monday evening in Adams County, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, to the 2100 block of West Bench Road after receiving a report of a vehicle that had overturned.
When deputies arrived, they located the overturned vehicle, which was actively leaking fuel. Authorities said the vehicle was unoccupied when first responders reached the scene.
Investigators identified the driver as Rogelio Mateo-Castillo, 22, of Othello. According to the sheriff’s office, a co-worker transported Mateo-Castillo to a local medical facility before deputies arrived. He was treated for head injuries sustained in the crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation, and a traffic infraction is pending. No additional details about the cause of the rollover have been released.
Officials remind motorists to remain attentive on rural roadways, where changing road conditions and higher travel speeds can increase the risk of serious crashes.
