Ohio drivers are easing through a gray curtain this morning as dense fog blankets Cleveland and much of the Lake Erie shoreline. Headlights glow along I-90 and I-71, and visibility drops to a quarter mile in spots, forcing slower speeds during the early commute.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. EST for north central and northeast Ohio and into northwest Pennsylvania. Visibility may fall to one-quarter mile or less at times. Low visibility could make driving hazardous, especially near the lake and in low-lying areas.
At Burke Lakefront Airport, temperatures hover near 33 degrees with calm winds and saturated air. Patchy slick spots are possible on bridges and untreated surfaces where moisture clings and temperatures flirt with freezing. Slow down, use low beams, and leave extra distance between vehicles.
Fog gradually thins late this morning. Clouds hold firm, and highs reach near 49 degrees. Rain develops late tonight, with a 70 percent chance and lows around 42. Thursday turns wet, with rain likely and highs climbing to 58.
Another round of rain lingers Thursday night into Friday. Highs rise into the mid-60s Friday before steadier rain returns Saturday, with rain chances near 90 percent and highs around 68. Keep umbrellas ready for weekend plans.
Early next week signals a stronger spring push. Sunshine builds Sunday with highs near 56, then into the 60s and possibly mid-80s by Monday in parts of the region. The 6–10 day outlook favors above-normal temperatures.
Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8, bringing longer evenings and nearly 90 extra minutes of daylight this month across northern Ohio.
