Franklin County, Ohio – Light snow drifts across Columbus this morning, dusting cars and creating slick patches on untreated roads. Temperatures sit at 26 degrees, and a steady northwest wind pushes wind chills into the teens. The morning commute is dealing with reduced visibility in passing snow showers.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, snow showers will continue through the morning hours across central Ohio. Minor accumulations around an inch are possible in spots, especially on grassy and elevated surfaces. Northwest wind gusts up to 30 mph will add areas of blowing and drifting snow, particularly on open stretches of I-70, I-71, and U.S. 33.

Roadways may become slick where temperatures hover below freezing. Drivers should slow down, increase following distance, and watch for icy bridges and overpasses. Even light snow can create brief whiteouts in heavier bursts. As skies clear later, any leftover moisture could refreeze toward evening, increasing the risk of flash freezing on untreated pavement.

Tuesday brings partial sunshine and a high near 39 degrees. Clouds increase Tuesday night, with a chance of snow before daybreak Wednesday. By Wednesday afternoon, precipitation may mix with or change to rain as highs climb into the mid-40s.

Thursday keeps rain and snow chances in the picture with highs in the low 40s. By Saturday, sunshine and temperatures near the mid-50s deliver a welcome dose of spring warmth. Longer-range trends favor above-normal temperatures into early March.

Five Day Outlook for Columbus, OH
Tuesday: Partly sunny, high 39°F.
Wednesday: Rain and snow likely, high 45°F.
Thursday: Rain/snow likely, high 42°F.
Friday: Sunny, high 44°F.
Saturday: Sunny, high 56°F.
