Danville, IL – A 46-year-old Danville man was killed Friday afternoon in a motorcycle-versus-car crash near the intersection of Gilbert Street and North Street, according to the Danville Police Department.
Police say the crash occurred around 3:34 p.m. on October 17, 2025, when the motorcyclist, traveling south on Gilbert Street, allegedly failed to stop at a stoplight and struck a Hyundai Sonata heading east on North Street. The collision occurred on the driver’s side door of the Hyundai as the motorcycle passed through the intersection.
Officers arriving at the scene found the rider with severe injuries. He was transported by medical personnel to OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. No other injuries were reported.
The Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team assisted Danville officers at the scene. Police have not yet released the victim’s name, pending notification by the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office.
