Winston-Salem, North Carolina – Multiple school-related incidents across Forsyth County, part of the Piedmont Triad region, led to charges against several students following fights and disorderly conduct reports this week.

According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, the most recent incident occurred Tuesday at Mt. Tabor High School, where two female students began arguing and displaying disruptive behavior inside the school. Deputies said one juvenile allegedly continued the behavior, resisted efforts to intervene, and assaulted a deputy.

Authorities said a 17-year-old female juvenile is facing charges including disorderly conduct, resisting or delaying an officer, and assault on a government official. A 15-year-old female juvenile is also facing a disorderly conduct charge.

In a separate incident Friday at Mt. Tabor High School, officials reported multiple fights involving five students near a bus lot. One student was struck in the head with a metal drinking cup and required medical attention. Deputies said pepper spray was used after verbal commands to stop fighting were ignored. An 18-year-old male was charged with simple assault, while several juveniles face affray and assault-related charges.

Another affray was reported Tuesday at Reagan High School, where two male students allegedly fought inside a classroom. Both juveniles are facing affray charges, officials said.

The sheriff’s office said all charges involving juveniles will be handled through petitions to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Officials emphasized that school resource officers remain committed to maintaining safety across the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools system.
