Yuma County, AZ – Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers seized an estimated 169 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop east of Yuma, leading to the arrest of two suspects on felony charges.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the seizure happened on April 30, 2026, when a Canine District trooper conducted the stop and discovered the large quantity of suspected meth hidden داخل the vehicle. Authorities said the suspects are facing charges including transportation of a dangerous drug.
Officials credited the work of the Canine District troopers, along with support from Highway Patrol District Four and the Yuma Narcotics Squad, in uncovering the drugs and advancing the investigation.
Photos released by DPS show multiple large plastic-wrapped bundles concealed داخل compartments of the vehicle, along with additional packages placed in boxes after being removed. The vehicle involved appeared to be a passenger car modified to hide the narcotics.
DPS also acknowledged assistance from the DEA Yuma Field Office in the case.
Authorities say efforts like this are part of ongoing enforcement actions aimed at disrupting drug trafficking operations across southern Arizona, particularly along corridors frequently used for transport near the U.S.-Mexico border.
No additional details about the suspects have been released. The case remains under investigation.
