Woman Found Dead with Stab Wounds in Joliet Apartment: Police Launch Investigation

Joliet, Illinois – A 58-year-old woman was found dead in her Hunter Avenue apartment Thursday. 

According to Joliet Police it happened at 10:40 AM, when local authorities responded to a distress call that hinted at a grim situation. Upon entering the apartment, officers discovered the lifeless body of the woman, who had suffered stab wounds to her abdomen. The original discovery was made by a family member. 

The Will County Coroner’s Office arrived at the scene and officially pronounced the victim’s passing.  The victim’s identity has yet to be released.

Joliet Police Detectives are actively engaged in the hunt for potential suspects.
