Fredonia, WI – A powerful winter storm brought more than 10 inches of snow to parts of Wisconsin as an Alberta Clipper swept through the Midwest. Fredonia led snowfall totals with 11 inches, while West Bend reported 10.5 inches. Cedar Grove and Plymouth also recorded 10 inches each, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The storm, accompanied by high winds, created hazardous travel conditions across the state. The NWS warned of slick roads and reduced visibility through Wednesday. Officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare for frigid conditions lingering through the week.

The storm’s impact extended across the Upper Midwest, with areas in Minnesota and Michigan also seeing significant snowfall. However, Wisconsin’s totals ranked among the highest.

Local snowplow crews have been working around the clock to clear roads, while residents tackled snow-covered driveways and sidewalks.

With temperatures expected to drop further, experts recommend layering clothing, keeping emergency supplies in vehicles, and checking on vulnerable neighbors.
