Wisconsin Drug Bust Uncovers 100+ Grams of Meth and Loaded Firearm in Walworth County

Walworth County, WI – Two men were arrested after a significant drug bust involving over 100 grams of methamphetamine and a firearm.

The Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit, alongside the Sheriff’s Office and federal agencies including the DEA and ATF, conducted the investigation. According to law enforcement, the operation reportedly included controlled drug purchases and culminated in a traffic stop on November 27 at 7:15 p.m. in the Town of Lyons.

During the stop, K9 Arie alerted officers to the vehicle, where they discovered methamphetamine, LSD, DMT, psilocin, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded semi-automatic pistol. Police identified the driver as Matthew A. Yardley, 46, of Elkhorn, and the passenger as Joshawah G. Stephenson, 42, of Waterford.

Both men face multiple charges, including intent to deliver methamphetamine. Yardley is charged with allegedly maintaining a drug trafficking vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon, while Stephenson faces additional charges related to alleged methamphetamine paraphernalia.

Authorities emphasized the ongoing investigation and the commitment to combating illegal narcotics in the community. Charges against both individuals are being referred to the Walworth County District Attorney’s Office.
