Norway, WI – A school bus overturned into a shallow pond Monday morning after a crash with a sedan. The accident occurred around 6:11 a.m. near State Highway 36 and South Wind Lake Road, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies determined the school bus was heading west on South Wind Lake Road and had stopped at a stop sign. It then crossed into the path of a southbound Pontiac sedan on State Highway 36. The sedan struck the bus, causing it to flip onto its roof in a nearby pond.

The school bus was unoccupied except for the driver, who escaped without injuries. The pond was shallow, posing no further danger. Deputies reported no injuries to the sedan’s driver.

Emergency crews worked to remove the overturned bus from the water while deputies remained at the scene. The accident caused a brief disruption in traffic, but authorities cleared the roadway later that morning.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
