Milwaukee, WI – Southeast Wisconsin faces dangerously cold wind chills Wednesday night, but relief is in sight as temperatures climb this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday, with wind chills as low as 25 degrees below zero. Residents should limit outdoor exposure, dress in layers, and cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite.
Thursday will bring some relief, with highs reaching the mid-20s and mostly sunny skies. By Friday, sunny conditions continue, with a high near 24°F. The weekend brings a noticeable warm-up, with Saturday reaching 27°F and Sunday climbing into the mid-30s, marking a break from the recent Arctic blast.
Despite the warming trend, overnight lows will remain in the teens and single digits, so residents should continue taking precautions. No significant snow is expected, though flurries may develop Wednesday night.
Stay updated on local forecasts, and take extra care when traveling in the cold. Warmer temperatures could mean icy patches as snow melts and refreezes overnight.
