Louisville, KY – Snow and freezing temperatures continue to grip Kentucky as a winter storm pushes through the region. Slippery roads and bitter wind chills are expected to make Thursday morning commutes difficult.

According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday, with additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches possible overnight. A Winter Weather Advisory follows, lasting through 7 a.m. Thursday, with temperatures dropping into the single digits and wind chills as low as -5°F.

Drivers should prepare for icy roads, especially on major highways and overpasses, with reduced visibility due to blowing snow. Authorities advise limiting travel and using extreme caution if heading out.

Thursday will remain bitterly cold, with highs only reaching 23°F, followed by an even colder start to Friday. However, by the weekend, a warming trend will bring relief, with temperatures rising into the mid-30s by Saturday and near 40°F by Sunday.

Stay updated on weather conditions and road closures before traveling. Warmer days are ahead, but dangerous winter conditions persist through the end of the week.
