Indianapolis, IN – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of Indiana and Ohio from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday. Snowfall of up to two inches is expected across the region, potentially creating hazardous road conditions during the evening commute.

The National Weather Service reports that initial snow showers will begin Thursday morning, temporarily reducing visibility. However, warm ground temperatures are expected to limit significant roadway impact during the day. Widespread snow will develop later in the afternoon, with travel impacts more likely as temperatures drop overnight.

Areas affected include portions of southeast Indiana and central Ohio, along with parts of northern Kentucky. Commuters are advised to slow down and use caution when traveling. Officials encourage checking road conditions via 511in.org for Indiana, ohgo.com for Ohio, or goky.ky.gov for Kentucky.

Drivers should plan ahead as slippery roads could lead to delays. Keep vehicles prepared for winter conditions, including de-icing materials and emergency kits. The advisory is expected to end early Friday morning, with clearing conditions afterward.

Stay informed on weather updates and avoid unnecessary travel during snow showers.
