Hanford, CA – A winter storm warning remains in effect for portions of central California, including Yosemite National Park and Sequoia National Park, from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service predicts heavy snow, with accumulations of up to 24 inches in some areas, and wind gusts reaching 50 mph. Affected areas include Lake Wishon, Shaver Lake, Cedar Grove, and Huntington Lake.
According to the National Weather Service, travel conditions are expected to become very difficult or even impossible during the storm due to heavy snowfall and gusty winds, which may cause tree branches to fall.
Travelers are urged to carry emergency supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water, in case of delays. For updates on road conditions, travelers can dial 511.
Residents in the warning area are advised to prepare for potential power outages and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.
