Paradise, MI – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Western Chippewa County until 4 p.m. Friday, with heavy snow creating hazardous travel conditions across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, areas near Paradise and Whitefish Point are expected to see total snow accumulations of up to six inches by the storm’s end. The warning, issued earlier this morning, highlights slippery roads and reduced visibility as significant risks for travelers.

Residents are advised to exercise caution if they must drive during the storm and ensure they have emergency supplies, such as a flashlight, food, and water, in their vehicles.

The storm is expected to taper off later this afternoon, but officials stress the importance of staying updated on weather conditions and avoiding non-essential travel until roads are cleared and deemed safe.
