New Lenox, IL – A student was taken into custody following a threat made on Snapchat at Providence Catholic High School. The incident occurred shortly before noon, prompting an immediate response from the New Lenox Police Department and the FBI.

According to the New Lenox Police, the student posted a picture of his lower body with a caption threatening to shoot up the school. The FBI, alerted to the threat, quickly identified Providence Catholic High School as the location. New Lenox officers were immediately notified and acted swiftly, locating the student.

No weapons were found, and the school was deemed safe. Authorities clarified that the school was never placed on lockdown due to the fast response.

Police thanked the FBI, school staff, and local dispatchers for their coordination in resolving the situation without harm. The identity of the student has not been released, but additional information about the arrest is expected soon.
