Wheaton, Ill. — The City of Wheaton Government posted road closures and parking restrictions to expect over the Fourth of July weekend. The activities for the holiday will take place on Thursday, July 3, and Friday, July 4.
The Fireworks and Festivities event will take place on Thursday night. Food vendors, inflatables, music, games and giveaways will be at the event at Graf Park. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends with a fireworks show starting at dusk, approximately 9:00 p.m.
For this event, roads surrounding Graf Park and the DuPage County Fairgrounds will have “Temporary No Parking” signs posted. Wheaton asks all guests to follow these signs starting at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Several other roads will also have parking restrictions on July 3. Union Avenue between Wheaton Avenue and Main Street will have these signs. Parking will also not be allowed on Wheaton Avenue between Union Avenue and Front Street. Front Street will have restricted parking between Wheaton Avenue and Cross Street. These designated areas will have restricted parking from July 3 at 9:00 p.m. until July 4 at noon.
Friday, July 4, will have the Fourth of July Parade. The parade will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The parade route begins on Main Street going south, turns west on Union Avenue and continues south on Wheaton Avenue. Then the route turns east on Front Street and ends on Cross Street. These roads and others will be closed from 9:00 a.m. until noon. A full map of road closures can be found online.
