Western Pennsylvania – Residents in western Pennsylvania should prepare for significant rainfall today as remnants of Storm Debby move through the region. Precipitation has already begun, with heavy rainfall expected throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, areas east of the city face a slight risk of excessive rainfall, while the ridges of West Virginia are under a moderate risk. The heaviest rain is forecast between 6 a.m. and noon, with rainfall rates potentially exceeding 0.5 inches per hour.

Today’s high in Pittsburgh is expected to reach 84°F, with showers persisting into the early afternoon. The rain will gradually taper off, leading to clearing skies by late afternoon. The weekend will bring a reprieve from the rain, with sunny conditions and highs near 80°F on Saturday and Sunday. Cooler temperatures will continue into next week, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.
