Buffalo, New York – Comfortable summer weather will continue across Western New York through Saturday before increasing humidity and scattered thunderstorms return Sunday, bringing a more typical midsummer pattern to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, Friday will feature mostly sunny skies with afternoon highs ranging from 78 to 84 degrees. Low humidity and light winds will provide excellent conditions for travel, outdoor recreation and community events across Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester, Jamestown and surrounding communities.
Saturday remains warm with highs between 80 and 86 degrees under partly to mostly sunny skies. Most areas will stay dry, although a spot shower or thunderstorm is possible across the Southern Tier and areas near Lake Erie during the afternoon. Any rainfall that develops is expected to be isolated, allowing many outdoor activities to continue without interruption.
By Sunday, moisture increases across the region, with highs once again reaching 80 to 86 degrees. Scattered showers and afternoon thunderstorms are expected to develop, creating the potential for brief heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds. While the day will not be a complete washout, residents planning outdoor events should keep a close eye on changing weather conditions.
Take advantage of the pleasant conditions through Saturday, but have a way to receive weather alerts before heading outdoors Sunday. Boaters on Lake Erie should also remain alert for rapidly changing weather if thunderstorms develop.
