Buffalo, NY – A frost advisory is in effect for Wyoming, Chautauqua, and Southern Erie counties from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, with temperatures expected to dip into the mid-30s. The National Weather Service has warned that areas inland from Lake Erie could see widespread frost, potentially damaging sensitive plants left unprotected.

According to the National Weather Service, the risk is highest for areas well inland from Lake Erie, including the cities of Warsaw, Jamestown, Orchard Park, and Springville. These areas are expected to experience frost conditions as the temperatures approach freezing overnight.

Residents are urged to take precautionary measures now, such as covering or bringing in tender plants that may be vulnerable to the cold. Those with outdoor gardens should be aware that frost could damage vegetation, especially in rural or low-lying areas.

The frost threat will last until 8 a.m. Saturday, though further advisories or warnings may follow if temperatures remain unusually low. Keep an eye on the latest weather updates as conditions evolve.
