Westbrook, ME – Police have arrested a Westbrook man in connection with the death of his roommate following an alleged violent altercation.

Authorities say 59-year-old Robert Seger was found unresponsive in a bedroom at 34 Lamb Street on November 21. Emergency responders transported him to Maine Medical Center, where he later died from blunt force trauma injuries.

According to the Maine State Police, Seger’s roommate, 47-year-old James Fowler, called 911 after the argument but left the scene and returned later. Police launched a homicide investigation with assistance from the Major Crimes Unit and Evidence Response Team.

An autopsy confirmed Seger’s cause of death as homicide. An arrest warrant was issued, and Fowler was taken into custody on Tuesday evening at the same residence. He faces charges of depraved indifference murder and remains at Cumberland County Jail.
