San Angelo, TX – Heavy rains have drenched San Angelo and much of West Central Texas, with flash flood watches extended through Wednesday. Over 6 inches of rain have already fallen in parts of Tom Green County, and more showers are expected. Residents are urged to remain cautious as more storms are anticipated overnight, potentially worsening road conditions and flooding risks.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the heaviest rains were recorded at a Texas Mesonet site northwest of San Angelo, with 6.37 inches falling by 9 p.m. The San Angelo airport recorded over 2.6 inches, and rain continues to fall.
The NWS advises monitoring weather updates and avoiding flooded areas. A temporary lull in the storm activity may occur, but more showers are predicted to resume by Wednesday morning. The storms are expected to clear out by Thursday, bringing sunny skies and warmer temperatures, with highs reaching the mid-80s through the weekend. However, residents should remain alert for any changes and prepare for possible disruptions due to the weather.
