Palos Park, IL – Significant road closures are set for Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Palos Park as the town prepares for the Autumn in the Park Parade. The event will result in closures along 123rd Street (McCarthy Road) between 96th Avenue (Rt 45) and 80th Avenue from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The parade will kick off at 11 a.m., traveling through the heart of the village. According to the Palos Park Police Department, the event will conclude on the Village Green at 8901 W 123rd Street, with various festivities planned. Motorists are urged to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
Alternative east-west routes include Route 83, 119th Street, and 131st Street. For north-south traffic, 80th Avenue remains open, while several roads will be closed at 123rd Street. These include 81st, 82nd, 83rd, Mohawk, and 93rd Avenues, as well as 86th, 87th, and 88th Avenues.
Palos Park officials encourage residents and visitors to enjoy the parade and celebrate the annual community event. All activities on the Village Green will be available throughout the day.
